They were married for 18 years. I’ve heard enough about it to know they’d discussed who would work and who would stay home with kids, depending on which job paid better, which is how he ended up as a Mr. Mom for a few years. All that said about living together not being a predictor, we’re still going to do it, because marriage really isn’t on our radar. We’ve both done that, in a big way. We both have kids, and remarriage only complicates that. I own my house, but we did have the talk about whether it was better to find a new place (he loves the house, so, no). We ended up waiting an entire year after it first came up, to make sure it was about wanting to be together and not for the financial break it would provide.
