Desi –
I didn’t want to “over-speculate” on the plight of those women because I am well aware that I have NO CLUE sitting here in America in my air-conditioning with a trade as a female Machinist…..WHAT these women are going through and I’d be an arrogant asshole to pretend that I can “appreciate” it.
I cannot IMAGINE what it is like to go BACKWARDS like the Afghan women have been forced to do. Educated lawyers, doctors, and police women being forced back into the home, back into the burqa, and back into being second class citizens after having already proven themselves worthy of the jobs/education they received? God it must be horrible torture every single day of their lives.
I really CAN’T imagine and am just happy to see them have a teeny, tiny piece of refuge from all of this.
