I only really ever had the one single time, and to be honest neither one of us cared much about the day, as everything was so totally perfect otherwise, trying to make one day any better or more special than the rest would have been virtually impossible.

I have been alone since then, for a long time. That has done nothing to endear me to the day, and neither has the annual explosion of metallic red hearts I see all around me in the weeks leading up to it.
